This loco was scrapped by mistake at Thompsons of Stockton when it was shunted into the scrapping area whilst stock was being moved around, and the gas axes got to work, the loco was a runner and subject to a preservation bid and was not meant to be scrapped..

31434 & 31306 BR Blue liveried 31434 & Dutch 31306 pass Merry Bower farm on the Sheet Stores-Stenson freight line on 18/08/98 with 6T84 1430 Toton-Bescot. I'd not been driving long and was attempting to find the way to the Barrow on Trent shot for this train when I took a wrong turn and ended up here, just as the train was coming.
31454 I'd not managed to take a class 31 from this Footbridge just South of Trowell Jn when 31's were in normal BR/EWS service, so that was put right today when 31454 was photographed passing with 6Z59 1202 Shirebrook WH Davies works-Derby. The late running of the train allowing the cloud to burn off and the sun angle make this location possible. The train then went forward from Derby with 57310 to Carlisle.
31459 31459 hammers up the MML at Sutton Bonington on 09/06/08 with an UID DBSO test train working.
31459 31459 and 31454 depart from Derby with a late running 1Q18 Derby-Barrow Hill-Derby RTC working on 20/03/09, the train was late running owing to an earlier bogie fire on 31106 at Barrow Hill.
31459 31459 looks sorry for itself after derailing on a wheelskate just outside Derby station on 16/06/09, a XC Voyager creeps passed with a service to the West.
31524 at Burton Dutch 31524 stands at Burton after running round its train prior to heading for Bardon Hill quarry with 7F63 0945 ex Bescot, the reason why this train didn't run direct via the Branston Jn to Birmingham curve Jn line I have been informed is most likely due to a set of experimental points that were installed by the RTC at Branston Jn to evaluate their operational reliability, which was, well, not very reliable...!

I have wanted a good picture of a Serco train on the test track for years but up until this week weather/train/me have never all coincided. It helped that the train was based on the test track all week, rather than the few hours on a Monday 'every so often' how it usually operates.
