East Midlands Gateway terminal (EMG)

The Segro East Midlands Gateway terminal opened in early 2020, providing a container terminal next to the M1 motorway and literally next to the end of the runway at East Midlands airpot.

Initially two services were introduced, one DB Cargo and one FL, both from Felixstowe, though the initial trial train ran from Southampton. Due to the Covid issues, currently in June 2020 only the DB Cargo service is running, but there are schedules in the system for several more flows, with services to/from Scotland / Southampton / Hull and Daventry expected to start once things return to 'normal'. The service from Hull is chocolate for Nestle and is expected to run 7 days per week.
